Shawdesh Desk: Three cases were lodged against Juba League leader SM Golam Kibria Shamim and two cases against Krishak League leader Shafiqul Alam Firoz on Saturday after Rapid Action Battalion had arrested on Friday.

RAB filed three cases against Shamim with Gulshan police and two cases against Shafiqul with Dhanmondi police.

RAB raided Shamim’s house and office in Nikatan in Dhaka on Friday and seized eight firearms, a huge amount of ammunition, Fixed Deposit Receipts worth Tk 165 crore and around Tk 1.8 crore in cash, a large stash of US and Singaporean dollars and some foreign liquor.

Seven of his armed bodyguards were also arrested.

On Friday night RAB detained the five men including Shafiqul raiding Kalabagan Krira Chakra and recovered a pistol and yaba from the club.

On Wednesday, RAB arrested Juba League leader Khalid Mahmud Bhuiyan at Gulshan for reportedly running an illegal casino.
